Race For Life

Well Cancer Research UK have announced their dates for the Race For Life. I'm going to be doing it on Sunday 24 June in Kirkcaldy.

I'm following a training programme for runners but I think I'll only be jogging it. So for my first week I have to do 20 mins on the crosstrainer with one minute running and one minute walking.

2nd week - 2 mins run, 1 min walk, repeated 8 times
3rd week - 4 mins run, 1 min walk, repeated 6 times
4th week - 5 mins run, 1 min walk, repeated 5 times
5th week - 8 mins run, 2 min walk, repeated 4 times
6th week - Gently jog for 25 mins a time

It seems to unattainable at the moment but I managed week one today so I'm hoping I can do it tomorrow as well. Come Monday I hope that I'll be running for 2 mins but if push comes to shove, I'll do each weekly plan over 2 weeks. I have plenty of time until the Race any way.
