Looking Forward......
As I said in the last post, I need to take my weight loss more seriously and part of that is to stop giving myself a hard time over the past. I can't change the past and can only focus on the future and changing my life for the better.h So this post is about looking forward to what's coming over the next wee while.
First thing is that I start back work on Monday. I can't wait!!! It's in the type of ward that I want and back home as well. It's full time and permanent which only sweetens the deal.
In a couple of weeks time (in fact exactly 3 weeks today), I officially graduate from uni. I left school when I was 16 and only really had office work type qualifications. I left for a job within the government and I stayed there for years. I was good at office work, I had been taught to type when I was younger because office work was what my mum did for a living. I never really thought I'd do anything else. Then my dad got ill for the first time just as I started work and I keep the job going to help out. I got my own house when I was 18 and after that I didn't have a choice but keep working. My dad died when I was 19 and I wasn't in the right frame of mind to make any major life changes. It wasn't until I was married that I had the courage and support to do it. I left my job and went to uni and now I graduate as a fully qualified adult nurse. I hope that I'm making my dad proud. The plan for graduation is to go to the ceremony (obviously) then back to Edinburgh for dinner with my family and then a wee night out.
In November, Matt & I celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. The day after we got married, my boss at the time, got us a night in a 5 star hotel free of charge. We had dinner booked but Matt ended up having dinner alone 'cause I got sick and went to bed early. So I've booked us into the same hotel and the aim is to try and have dinner with my husband lol. After our anniversary is Christmas and then Matt's birthday.
In between all that stuff, will be work, the gym and improving the house. I've got a list of things that I want to have done in the house over the next 6-12 months.
I haven't been able to get to the gym this week but that's ok, I'll make up for it next week when I'm feeling better. I haven't weighed in this week but again it doesn't matter, I'll do it next week. I've decided that I'm just going into this new job relaxed and calm, nothing is going to bother me. I'm surrounding myself with people that I care about and they care about me. Making life a bit more zen :-)
