Revelation

Managed to drag my ass to the gym today and it was about time! I also booked 3 classes for next week so I'll be doing: Monday - Zumba Tuesday - Zumba (just at a local hall in Kelty) Wednesday - Step Thursday - Body Combat Had a bit of moment in the gym as well. I haven't been happy for a very long time. Not with my life, I love my husband, my family and my true friends but with myself. I've known for years that losing weight would help my PCOS and I know the things that I should and shouldn't eat but I haven't done it. For years, I've just been the jolly fat girl who doesn't fully trust anyone and won't confide in anyone unless I've had a couple of drinks. Always trying to please other people. I would go as far to say that I hated myself.  But times are changing. This is my year! The weight is going! My studies are demanding more of my time so I need to concentrate on that. So this time next year, I'll be smaller and a fully qualified nu...

This week

Image
It really hasn't been a good week this week. I'm not eaten well and I've only been to the gym once (twice if you include tomorrow). I think I'll have put weight on this week. I just need to get right back on the horse next week.I'm planning on going to the gym tomorrow and Sunday am so hopefully will keep any weight gain to a minimum. Things are getting better, I feel better. I've just lost my motivation :-( On a plus though, I've went to the new gym in Dunfermline and its really nice! I think I'm finding my training schedule for the 5k particularly hard. I just really need to force myself back into it.  I still have my 3 little pieces of motivation (anyone who read my Willpower post will know what I mean lol). Proof attached below. The packaging was completely silver at one point but they've been in my bag so long, they're a bit more tatty looking! :-)

It's getting better, I can feel it

It's been a weird few days, probably since last Saturday. I'm starting to feel a lot better being on this diet. I can feel the symptoms of my PCOS relieving themselves. I actually wake up in the morning and feel ready to just get up and get on with it. I didn't really think it would happen after only losing just over a stone but I can def feel some changes.  My uni work is stressing me out no end though. There is so much work to do and not an awful lot of time to do it in. I really just need to knuckle down and get organised but at the same time. I'm sure it will all come together (fingers crossed!!).

This weekend

Well I went out this weekend for lunch, dinner and dancing. It was a brilliant day and night. At lunchtime I ate really well. Stuck to water and had a lovely salad. At night I wasn't so good. I had a fair bit of alcohol and ate half a pizza. I danced a lot and still managed to lose 2lbs this week. I weighed myself on Friday and had lost 4 lbs so the alcohol has put the weight on. At the end of the day though, I lost weight so its heading in the right direction. Back on the wagon now though and when I go out in the future, I'll be off the booze. Its just not worth it.  Week 3 is always a hard week for me. Its the point where my body just seems to do exactly the opposite of what I want. Its normally the week that I start to lose heart. But not this time....

Catch Up

I'm going out this weekend so decided to weight myself today to see how I had done this week. Its really my first full week of eating right and upping my game with the exercise. I'm not going to post what I've lost or gained, I'll post on Sunday as normal. I've signed up for Race for Life!! Woo hoo the countdown to the run has begun!!!  http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/jameslairdcorbett Please please sponsor me!!

Eating Out

This weekend will be the first time since I started eating healthy that I have to eat out. More than a little bit apprehensive. I have 2 choices, I can eat what I want and potentially have to sort out my blood sugars again on the  Monday OR  I can eat following the GI diet and continue the way I've been going. I know where I'm going to eat and I've looked at the menus. I think I need to keep going the way that I'm going. If I eat healthy, I can have a couple of glasses of wine on Saturday night. I'm going to Nando's and Pizza Express (menus below). Wish me luck lol Nando's menu Pizza Express Menu

Race For Life

Well Cancer Research UK have announced their dates for the Race For Life. I'm going to be doing it on Sunday 24 June in Kirkcaldy. I'm following a training programme for runners but I think I'll only be jogging it. So for my first week I have to do 20 mins on the crosstrainer with one minute running and one minute walking. 2nd week - 2 mins run, 1 min walk, repeated 8 times 3rd week - 4 mins run, 1 min walk, repeated 6 times 4th week - 5 mins run, 1 min walk, repeated 5 times 5th week - 8 mins run, 2 min walk, repeated 4 times 6th week - Gently jog for 25 mins a time It seems to unattainable at the moment but I managed week one today so I'm hoping I can do it tomorrow as well. Come Monday I hope that I'll be running for 2 mins but if push comes to shove, I'll do each weekly plan over 2 weeks. I have plenty of time until the Race any way.

Willpower

I've never considered myself one of these lucky people who have a load of willpower. In fact I would say I'm exactly the opposite but I've set myself a wee challenge to test what little willpower I have. In my handbag are 3 chocolate sweets that I got off my granny ages ago. They've just sat in the bottom of my bag and I had totally forgotten about them. During a wee craving for sugar this week, I found them and really felt like I needed them. BUT I didn't have them. So they've become sort of like a reminder that I don't need any crappy food. I watched One Born Every Minute this week and there was a woman on it who suffered from the same thing I do, PCOS. She made a good point as well. PCOS is affected by weight and to have a baby she was told that she had to lose it. She would starting weighing up junk food with a baby. Now I know that Matt and I aren't at the baby making phase yet but ultimately if I want to have a family I need to get rid of my ex...
